Product Academy: Equipping UnionBankers for Agile Ways of Working

By: Neil Patrick G. Nepomuceno

Strengthening how UnionBankers learn, build, and collaborate, the Product Academy returns this March with focused learning sessions under UnionBank University. The program continues to build critical product development and Agile capabilities across the generation as we accelerate our journey toward becoming a NextGen Bank.

A key highlight is the Right Agile Onboarding, designed for members of nine identified Tribes who will help champion Agile Ways of Working across the bank.  The program establishes a shared understanding of agile principles, language, and behaviors—enabling teams to collaborate seamlessly, stay aligned, and move with greater speed and purpose.

Anchored on practical application and real-world collaboration, Right Agile Onboarding supports teams in building stronger alignment while navigating complex product environments. By creating a common foundation, the program helps reduce friction, improve delivery, and empower Tribes to respond more effectively to evolving customer needs.

“As we upskill UnionBankers with future-ready ways of working, the Product Academy reinforces our commitment to Upskill U—empowering our people to innovate with confidence as we reimagine banking to uplift lives,” shared Japh Luistro, Learning and Development Senior Manager.

Led by UnionBank’s Learning and Development team, the Product Academy reflects culture where growth is continuous and learning is self-driven. At UnionBank, development is not defined by a single path, but by the courage to keep learning—enabling every UnionBanker to buiild new strengths, explore purpose-driven roles, and deliver products and services that help our clients move forward with confidence.
