Community Empowerment: UnionBank and City Time Square’s Inspiring Collaboration

UnionBank Cebu Subangdaku, in collaboration with City Time Square, held a livelihood training program designed to empower women, the homeless, and local residents of Barangay San Nicolas Proper. This event took place last July 29, 2023, and saw the involvement of 20 dedicated UnionBankers.
The participants of the program displayed remarkable dedication and enthusiasm throughout the day. They were eager to know every piece of information and engaged in crafting wallets and vases during the hands-on sessions. They were also offered personalized guidance and mentorship to ensure each participant’s success.
During the training program, everyone was determined to acquire new skills that could enhance their lives. Their aspirations revolved around providing a better future for their children, which included access to quality education and improved living conditions. They also began discussions with their neighbors about creating job opportunities to stimulate the local economy.
Following the program, UnionBankers extended their gratitude by distributing groceries, lunch, and 5-kilogram sacks of rice to the participants. This gesture was a small but meaningful token of appreciation for their active involvement in the event and their journey toward self-improvement.
This initiative presented a golden opportunity to Go Beyond and provide much-needed assistance to those in need. The event made a significant impact on a community comprising of almost 100 individuals, fostering hope and empowering those who needed it most.
