UnionBank Brings Joy to the Children of Good Shepherd’s Fold in Guimaras

As 2025 slowly comes to a close, the spirit of Ubuntu and purposeful service remains strong. On August 16, 2025, the halls of Good Shepherd’s Fold, Inc. in Buenavista, Guimaras came alive with music, laughter, and gratitude as UnionBankers from the General Luna and Iznart branches came together for a meaningful GoBeyond Communities outreach.
With UnionBank’s unwavering support, the volunteers brought not just gifts and supplies—but also compassion, joy, and hope to the orphaned children they served. The children welcomed the team with touching performances, showcasing their talents through songs while showcasing their skills on the violin, guitar, and drums.
The children received care packages that included umbrellas, towels, clothing, bags with multivitamins, toothbrushes, toothpaste, bath soap, and baby powder for the girls. Volunteers also donated four electric fans, two electric kettles, first aid medicines, and two gallons of alcohol to the orphanage—items meant to support the daily needs of both children and staff. One UnionBank volunteer gave an additional financial gift, which served as an early Christmas surprise. The children responded with a thank-you card, showing their appreciation.
Organizing the GBC event requires coordination, procurement, and preparation. As one volunteer shared, “All the efforts and sacrifices was all worth it when we see the fruits of our labor—especially our beneficiaries. Seeing their situations, hearing their stories, and receiving their ‘thank you’ is very heartwarming and fulfilling.”
UnionBank continues to champion employee-led initiatives like GoBeyond Communities, empowering its people to reach out and uplift underserved communities across the country. Through its flagship CSR program, UnionBank not only enables these acts of service but also inspires a culture of compassion and purpose—one community at a time.
