On March 29, 2025, UnionBank volunteers from the Metro Central Region went to Barangay Batasan, Quezon City to bring joy and hope to young children who are battling illnesses.
The families expressed their gratitude to the volunteers for the short program that taught them the value of caring for each other and extending a helping hand to those who are in need. The parents and young adults eagerly listened to the financial literacy talks that can help them make smarter financial decisions in the future.
According to UnionBank Senior Branch Ambassador, Tara, the beneficiaries rely on donations from various foundations and their own side hustles for their daily expenses.
Tara said, “It’s a good feeling to share our blessings especially with children. It is also inspiring to see the smile on the faces of the children and their families. We felt that our small acts of service can truly touch their hearts.” She concluded.
The volunteers entertained the children with a song and dance performance. Whole families were also given moments to share their life journeys, which proved both inspiring and important in building a collective bond within the community.
A week after the GBC Project, one of the terminally ill beneficiaries passed away and the bereaved family expressed their gratitude for UnionBank’s donations and for giving happiness to their daughter during the GBC project.
UnionBank continues to sponsor employee-led GoBeyond Communities projects, bringing positive change to remote and underserved communities. All employees are invited to create GBC Projects that focus on uplifting lives and shaping the next generation.
Thank you so much Unionbank 🧡
