On June 7, 2025, the quiet farming community surrounding Pandakake Integrated School (PIS) was filled with laughter, gratitude, and renewed hope as UnionBank volunteers, led by Senior Branch Ambassador Marizel, arrived with gifts and smiles that lit up the entire school. Despite its remote location, nestled in the middle of vast farm fields, PIS welcomed the team with open arms and hearts full of appreciation.
Marizel described the experience as humbling. “Seeing the children’s smiles and the teachers’ gratitude reminded us why we do this. It’s not just about giving; it’s about connecting, understanding, and uplifting communities that need us most.”
Eighty-six students benefited from the event, which featured donations of smart TVs and boxes of bond papers; simple yet impactful tools to aid teaching and learning. The program drew barangay officials, faculty, parents, and students, all radiating joy.
Pandakake Integrated School began as a primary school in 1950 and has grown steadily over the years. It became an elementary school in 2012 and was officially integrated in 2023, now offering both elementary and junior high school education. Plans are underway to introduce a Senior High School Humanities and Social Sciences strand, based on student preferences.
The dedication of the faculty, who serve with heart and compassion, continues to inspire. “We will never forget this project,” shared one volunteer.
Through UnionBank’s support, GoBeyond Communities (GBC) continues to be a bridge of compassion and opportunity by bringing resources, knowledge, and hope to underserved schools like Pandakake. Cementing our commitment to build better communities.
