In a heartwarming display of compassion and community spirit, UnionBank’s Collections team Agency Head Amor Cruz, along with eight other employee volunteers recently visited the Laura Vicuna Foundation; a safe haven for young girls overcoming adversity.
The visit began with warm greetings from the girls some shy, others excited to reunite with familiar faces. Brenda, a representative from the foundation, opened the program with uplifting remarks that set the tone for a day filled with connection and resilience.
Employee volunteers facilitated two lively games that quickly broke the ice, followed by heartfelt song and dance performances from the girls. “It was a vibrant display of talent and spirit,” Amor shared, “a testament to their strength and creativity.”
Lunch offered a chance for deeper conversations, where stories were exchanged and bonds were formed. Afterwards, each girl received a gift bag filled with school supplies and personal essentials, along with grocery items turned over to support the foundation’s daily needs.
The afternoon featured a drawing activity where the girls illustrated motivational quotes on canvas. Their presentations revealed touching insights into their hopes and personalities, some humorous, some emotional, all inspiring.
Through shared laughter, creative expression, and thoughtful donations, the team brought joy and encouragement, reinforcing UnionBank’s commitment to making a meaningful difference through its flagship CSR program, GoBeyond Communities.
This initiative demonstrates how employee-led efforts under GoBeyond Communities continue to bring light to underserved groups, helping more communities rise through compassion, financial literacy, and genuine connections.
