In the heart of Pulpogan, Consolacion, Cebu, a group of UnionBank volunteers brought more than just school supplies—they delivered hope.
On July 19, 2025, through the Bank’s flagship CSR program, GoBeyond Communities (GBC), the Cebu Time Square and Subangdaku branches joined forces to brighten the day of 30 kindergarten learners from Bagong Lipunan Elementary School. These young students, many of whom bring their own chairs to school daily, were greeted with a surprise that would make their upcoming school year more comfortable and joyful.
Led by UnionBank Branch Ambassador Bea Mae, the outreach was a testament to the power of community and compassion. Eight employee volunteers came together to donate kiddie chairs, individual school supply kits, and teaching materials to support both learners and educators. The donation turnover was marked by a short but joyful program, featuring an intermission number from one of the school’s faculty members and fun mini games that brought laughter and excitement to the children.
While some students were shy, many couldn’t hide their excitement as they received the new school supplies. The school, which serves over 200 students, faces daily challenges due to limited resources. This initiative provided material support while making the children feel excited and ready for the upcoming school year.
As the program wrapped up, the smiles on the children’s faces and the gratitude from the school community echoed the bigger impact of the event. Through employee-led initiatives like GoBeyond Communities, UnionBank continues to reach out to underserved areas, empowering lives and building future, one act of kindness at a time.
