On July 5, employee volunteers from UnionBank visited Kalumpang Elementary School in Tayabas, Quezon Province, to formally turn over a set of essential learning tools for its Special Education (SPED) program. The donation included a television, printer, boxes of bond paper, ink, and rubbing alcohol. These simple yet impactful items are aimed at enhancing the learning experience of students with special needs.
The initiative was part of UnionBank’s flagship CSR program, GoBeyond Communities (GBC), which empowers employees to lead donation drives and outreach efforts in underserved areas. According to the volunteers, the donated items were selected to support the school’s efforts in creating a more engaging learning environment.
The television is expected to play a key role in visual learning, especially for SPED students who respond better to dynamic content such as images, sounds, and movement. Meanwhile, the new printer will allow teachers to produce customized learning materials tailored to individual student needs. Sanitizing alcohol were also provided to help maintain a clean and safe classroom environment.
Teachers welcomed the donation with joy, expressing gratitude for the support and highlighting how these tools will help them better serve their students.
“This project wasn’t just about giving supplies—it was about enabling a learning space that meets every child where they are.” – UnionBank Junior Branch Ambassador, Arlene
